I'm taking it to a trusted mechanic tomorrow, and this is something I should know, but I'm only just now getting interested in automotive repairs and mods. What would you GUESS might be the problem? I'm hoping plug/wire issue as it feels like it's misfiring. Perhaps it could be a clogged injector?

i wouldn't even know how to decode my check engine light. I don't have any gear to plug in or diagnose.

the history is vague. I know the timing belt, wheel bearings and exhaust are less than 2 years old. I don't know when or if the plugs were ever changed.

the sputter was getting worse, so i had it flatbedded to my mechanic. it turned out that two injectors were clogged. my mechanic cleaned them out and flushed out some sediment. he also gave it a once-over (at my request) looking for any other potential issues. clean bill of health and less than $300 total.

and i get it back in less than 12 hours from tow to home.
