I have noticed that the lower radiator air intake, below the main grille, has a servo operated flap.
This flap is shut when the engine is cold and opens when the aircon is switched on allowing more airflow to the radiator.
It also appears to open at high engine temps. I'm not sure why this needs to be there other than to get the engine to operating temp quickly. In very hot weather, I would prefer to know that it is open and maximizing airflow. The Dealer couldn't shed any light on this.
Has anyone else noticed this?
