Cheers Don,
I take it I just adjust the Nut??
Alan,

I'm not actually sure how they work, (not had one in pieces) but should hold the door in the fully open position, even on a slope. They are always lubricated when the car is serviced, so its not pure friction but a spring loaded clamp/detent (which may or may not be adjustable).

If your door doesn't positively "latch" in the fully open position it (the checker assembly) may need replacing.
The nuts (2 off 023806000) are used to fix it in the door.
