Front passenger window will not roll up/down on my 2003 XS!

Howdy folks,

One day last week, out of the blue, my front passenger window stopped working. It never slowed down, and was not a long drawn out process...leading me to believe it is not a problem with the motor. Is there a possible loose connection somewhere? If so, where might it be?

Any insight is appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Ben

Can you operate the window using the drivers side controls? If so try swapping out the window switches. The passenger side and rear window switches are all the same. These switches are not up to Subaru's normal standards.

Check the position of the kiddie lockout switch. It's the button with the X on it on the driver's side armrest, near the other window switches. It disables all windows but the driver's.

I discovered this on my wife's Impreza only after checking all the fuses and analyzing the wiring diagram.

SuperRu - unfortunately, it won't operate from the drivers side switch or it's own switch.

BBB - also unfortunately, it's not the kiddie-lock. I wish it was!

So the window does no work from either switch? You will need to pull off the rt door panel. Check the connector to the motor. If it looks okay, you will need a meter or at least a light bulb type voltage checker. Check to see if the motor has power when hitting the switch. You will need to plug the rt power window switch back in before you test. If you have power, then you have a bad motor.
