Want to clarify above: does anyone think that the proximity of the catalytic converter causes the gasket to fail prematurely?

 

I think the converter proximity may be a problem. I would suggest using a good aftermarket gasket (Fel-Pro) rather than the OEM stuff.

Is there a write-up or any DIY information on how to do this? I'm a repeat failure and need to do mine again but I'm not paying the dealer this time.........

 

Sorry I don't have anything to offer, after I got lucky with an easy RTV fix to my spot leaks. I too found very little online for the FB25, although there's plenty of DIY stuff for earlier years. The '11 is getting old enough; you would think there's something out there to help.

But if faced with the job, I'd do the $35 download for the FSM.

 

FSM? I have the all data DIY subscription, something like that?
