Just ordered my 2019 Forester Premium yesterday. The dealership is selling it around invoice. They gave me a hell of a trade in offer on my 2011 Forester... $1500 above what I was hoping for. I had mentioned that I was going to visit the other local dealership later. Visited the dealership I bought my car from and took a test drive there as well. Their trade in offer was the Subaru guaranteed one of 5220 which was a little disappointing. The dealership I had visited Saturday offered 5500, but would go up to $6000. I have printouts from Kelley Blue Book and NADA, so I know the ranges... my car has 75,000 miles. It does have some scratches and door dings, but it is an 8 year old car. I think my salesman thought I was just going to buy from them again, didn’t even try to work a better deal... I didn’t mention the deal from the other dealership, I don’t think I should be the one jumping through hoops. The place I am buying from came out with their best offer, giving me more than my car is worth, and the payments fit my budget. They don’t have the car, so we are ordering it from the factory with everything I want in the dark grey metallic, so in 6-8 weeks I should have my new car unless they can find one and do a dealer trade.
CarMax gave me $9600 for my 2011 forester, 52 k, prem with roof and cloth seats, average shape

Nice. Mine is the base model with alloy wheel package. I am happy with the $7500, as long as it doesn’t go down once my car comes in and they reinspect it.

Lovely I think it’s just a limited or touring. Don’t wanted leather. Getting my sport. Not a dealer breaker. Lmaooo

DJfrost,
If I recall correctly, the U.S. Sport model does not have the boomerang DRLs.
Think the Canadian Sport models might have them.

You think the headlights from CA are compatible with US? I would love to swap out the headlamps just so I can get that nice DRL.

Looking to purchase a base model 2019 Forester here in San Diego CA. Invoice is $22,915, destination is $975. Most of the advertised 2019 Forester base models locally are MSRP $26,600ish. I spent several hours at a local dealer being given the runaround on a used Forester, so much of a PITA I don't want to waste several more hours and just do it by email/phone. instead.

What would a good deal at this time be to make email offers? Off-hand just asking for invoice + destination + tax and licensing, or just asking for $26,000 OTD and let them "make the numbers jive"? I've never paid more than window sticker OTD (paying under MSPR number as my OTD after taxes) for a new car in my life, so dealing with Subaru is new to me, and not the happiest of haggling exxperiences.

You can get a Premium model for $26,600. Most base model Foresters in our area are advertised for $24,500 or less. I suggest going for at least $1k-2k under invoice.

Apparently, southern California dealers do not order or stock base Foresters with no extra options. The cheapest MSRP units "within 200 miles" per the dealer are all $26,602 (Standard not Premium), and best he can do is invoice ($25,500ish) for those plus tax and license, so around $27,400 cash money OTD. Another dealer said they can order me a new 2019 for $23,890 + tax and license, but that would arrive most likely on the same truck as the new 2020's in 2-3 months. Dealer told me Subaru told them cut-off for new 2019 Forester factory orders is Monday July 22nd.

The cheapest MSRP 2019 Foresters in San Diego county are all pushing $30,000...they really seem to load every one up with thousands of dollars in extras. :(

I'm told my car should arrive at the port on Thursday, July 25th. How long after should it arrive at the dealer, and how long after that should I be able to pick it up?

It's a Forester Limited and the only option is the rear bumper cover.

Should be less than a week based on where it has to travel to from the port.
