I've dealt with Alex at Ramsey before. He's a take or leave it kind of guy. He doesn't bargain much so I wouldn't waste your time. I agree he's quite arrogant too but I guess that's how he gets the suckers.

While Liberty didn't have the best bottom line pricing during my two searches, they were a very pleasant dealership to deal with. I suggest emailing Dan Rovelli there.

Good evening Subaru Forester owners. Quick question about a price offer from our local dealer in Lexington, KY.
Looking at a 2019 Subaru Forester Limited (package 31 - leather seats, no navigation).

MSRP = $33,011
Invoice = $30,564
Offered Purchase Price = $30,264

My original thought after reading these posts was that my price should be under $30,000. Interested in your thoughts about how hard I should keep pushing or other dealers I might call. I’m more than happy to travel in order to get a solid price.

Thanks for all the posts....they really do help.

Blessings!

Jim

What is package 31 - leather seats? Doesn't the limited already come with leather seats? I didn't find this option online.

What I gathered from googling is that package 31 is the standard limited model. Package 32 is with the only optional package on limited. 21 is standard Sport and 11 is standard Premium. 41 is standard touring model.

Interesting. Does the invoice price vary per state? I was offered the invoice price of 29762 for the limited (no options). This also matches the truecar invoice price for limited.

kybaldridge quoted their offer to have an invoice of 30,564 without options. I guess it’s possible it comes with random minor options without packages too?

MSRP prices are different. Your quote has no options where as kydaldridge has port options installed.

Looking to go buy this today, want to see if this is a good price. Sport with package 24. Price - 27749, tax 1151, Dealer fee 699. OTD 29600. Any opinions would be great!

Deal looks good considering that invoice for a Sport with package 24 is $29,720 (no other accessories installed). However, the $700 doc fee negates a lot of the savings.

Thanks so much. Ended up buying the vehicle yesterday. Had some misunderstanding with the dealer on the packages that I was looking for, they were quoting a different package (22 not 24) and once realizing their mistake decided to honor the price. So got the sport package 24 and pop package 2 for $27600.70, invoice was $30,604.00. I got super lucky and the dealership was really great to honor the price.

anyone purchase in jersey??

Has anyone bought in the tri-state area? I am in new jersey and looking at a forester sport at miller subaru and was curious if anyone worked up any deals there recently?

I'm in the Tri-State also and so far dealt with Bill Kohl, Ramsey, Liberty, Westchester, One in PA and today went to Rye in NY. PA gave me a good deal on Touring (4K under invoice). I tried price matching with everyone. Bill Kohl's sales manager was kinda disrespectful so they are out. Ramsey tried to pull a fast one per my previous post. Liberty offered 1,871 below MSRP. I went to Rye earlier and tried to get him to match the PA deal as that would save me a 2hr drive each way. He said nobody is going to take 4K off MSRP. Also said they will pull a fast one and not have to correct car and try to sell me something else blah blah blah. Told him I would think about it and left.

If anyone got a great deal in the Tri-State please do share.

Thanks!

How much can I expect to save by waiting to buy the car in July/August?

I'm looking for a base limited. Best offer I have right now is "official" invoice (according to truecar) of 29762.

Did you see post from ellingjt who got about 1300 under on a base limited from Grand. Maybe helpful to post location. If you are looking to buy now, the end of the month is fast approaching.

I'm planning to go to Westchester tomorrow. They quoted 2% under invoice and possibly more if I go in an negotiate with them for the Touring. I tried to get Rye to beat the price since they said they have a low price guarantee and can beat my lowest price. When I called them with that price, they couldn't beat it and told me to go with whoever gave me that quote. The PA dealer that you went to, do you know how much under invoice that was? Did the MSRP price include the destination charge? Seems like we have a few tri-state people who are looking for the Forester. Maybe we can do a group buy, lol.

Where do you reside? How far are you willing to travel to get your price?
Most importantly - What is your time worth to you?

I did. The part that is confusing to me is I asked multiple dealers to quote me a base limited and they gave me a price and also supposed invoice prices all over the places (from 29700 to 33k). There doesn't seem to be options coming with the car in the ones they quoted. ellingjt's offer had invoice of 30.5k.

ellingjt best price is 29172. I would try to make that price for sure to go down from my price of 29700. I'm in socal though so not really an option to get that exact deal. I was wondering how much more can I save from 29kish for a base limited if I wait til summer.

Btw ellingjt, just curious. Did that car quoted at 29172 come with any accessory or options? Or it was just the base limited.
