2014 Subaru Eyesight Version?

I've placed a deposit on a 2014 Touring 2.5i with Eyesight. The dealer tells me that it is the 2nd generation of the eyesight and not the first generation. The 2nd gen can prevent collisions unto 30 mph vs 19 and has 2 color cameras. Articles I read online indicate this comes on the 2015 models, starting in 2014. Is the dealer BS-ing me?

Anybody know more on what version of the eyesight is in the 2014 Forester?

2nd gen eyesight

I was just at my dealer today talking MY14 Forester Touring with Eyesight. I believe the Eyesight in the 2014 is the 2nd generation. The 1st gen was in the 2013 Outback and had black and white cameras. The 2014 Forester has color cameras.

The 2014 Forester has black and white cameras.

In the US, this is version #1, I believe, and the new version coming out with color cameras is version 2. In the JDM market, I believe there was an earlier generation, which could mean the 2014 Forester has version 2 and the new version coming out is 3.

If he specifically told you that it has the color cameras and that it works up to 30 mph, he is lying.

This link here seems to detail what was in 2014 vs 2015. It appears that the 2014s have the first gen eyesight black and white cameras?

The new (2nd) version of eyesight in the 2015 comes along new features such as blind spot detection, lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert.

I'm currently getting a 2014 model at 4% below invoice, but if waiting for another 2 months gives me the extra features it offers it's probably worth waiting for.

Lol . . of course I realize that . . especially for operation. . . 'a lot of little details' NO KIDDING! For me at least, I found this article much better for SIMPLY understanding what was included as features/functions of the LATEST Eyesight system . . and from previous posts in this thread there appears to be considerable confusion about that basic information.
