I have a 2013 diesel Outback and need to replace the coolant. I realise this is a Forester forum but I assume the diesel engines are identical and I haven't been able to get the info I'm after on the Outback forum.
I've drained the radiator using the drain plug but it doesn't seem to drain all the coolant in the system, but only what's in the radiator. I've noticed there's a short rubber hose at the heater 'junction' near the engine inlet down low but not sure whether taking that hose off will solve the issue. Is there another drainage point somewhere or something I'm not doing when draining the radiator. I've looked at plenty of YouTube's but they all just seem to drain the radiator and are not the diesel engines.
The frustrating thing is I didn't need to do any of this in the first place, but that's another story.
Thanks, Tim.
