2006 - XTE - Side lights colour?

My06 xte has xenon headlights as standard and when they're on they make the side lights look a yellowy colour by comparison. Would like to replace the sidelights to similar brightness but can't see that this is going to be easy - reckon I'm going to have to take out the entire headlight unit?
In case anyone wonders, my car is the same model as the one at the top left of the forum and the sidelights 'sit' across the top of the headlights

You can access the side light bulb holders by moving the grill fowards. I seem to remember a post about fitting a strip of leds in through the bulb holder hole. Sadly I can't find the post.

Max.

This was a good find !

Having noticed a sidelight has gone on the STI, and as I'm now on page 6 of a forum search, I am relieved to discover that I don't have to remove half of the Foz to get at the bulb.

I saw some clips on a flap covering the top of the headlight, so you reckon I can just undo these and it'll give me acess then...?

Sorry guys, but you're dealing with '10-thumb' man here when it comes to anything constructional, mechanical etc :icon_redface:. Where exactly are these 6 clips? Get the impression they're on top of bumper, or do you mean the grill? I don't have driveway so everything has to be done roadside which makes anything even harder to deal with.
Also, the 501 bulb, is it comparable with the oem xenon headlights on my06? This was my issue with the 'eyebrow' lights - too yellow compared to the headlight.
thank you

the sidelights can be changed without removing anything, sidelights/eyebrow lights are the same its the yellow looking one in the top corner of the light cluster nearest to the grill. the best way to make them match is to change to led sides which are "whiter" in appererance.

Scc28 - My issues are with the 'eyebrow' looking a bit yellow - I called them sidelights in the very first post which is perhaps confusing as I can see now that earlier models do have conventional and seperate sidelights as compared to eyebrows.
Reckon I'm just going to have to get my ten thumbs under the bonnet and see what I can do with those clips . . . Look out for a thread next week under the heading "How do I replace those bloody clips"

I removed the larger 6 plugs securing the top of the bumper above the grill, and that enabled me to 'bend' the trim away enough to get half a finger in there.

Quite what 'turn over the upper part of the bumper face' means I have no flippin' idea... so I'm guessing it's not applicable to mine.

Must admit that even to me aka "10 thumb man" that comment about turning over the bumper face sounded strange. Must make time and give this a go sometime especially now it's pretty clear there's no need to drop or remove the whole of the front of the car, as was suggested in earlier threads. Sorry final question, are those bulbs comparable with your xenon headlights? I'm assuming they're not that white to make them bordering on illegal. What I'd like to achieve is a solid light when headlights are on, rather than the present white with dull strip across the top.

Mine has something like these fitted:

HB4 Fog / Spot Beam Headlight Bulbs Xenon Supreme White Light Upragde 9006 & 501 | eBay

Doesn't seem to cause any hassle, did notice one WPC doing a double take at them when I turned into a side road in front of her (as the bulbs have a blue coating you see a brief flash of blue from some angles if they're not switched on) but MOT man was happy and I've never been flashed or pulled over while using them. The light is a cold white rather than the yellowish tinge of normal halogens.
