After 16 yrs of service my alternator is on the way out charging at 13.5 volts with the lights out ,are there any suggestions for a replacement for a sensible price .

I would really like a genuine replacement as ive heard that after market one can throw up fault codes initially i thought i was the battery with a succession of sluggish starts .

Ive looked at icp and no dice ,i dont really want a second hand one unless i can help it .

I have a 2004 XS and bought a Subaru remanufactured alternator from my local Subaru dealer, Annapolis Subaru 2 years ago. They ship as well. This was the price 2 years ago...still working great.

Subaru Remanufactured Alternator - 23700AA37AR1 - $230.73 + $50.00 Core Charge.

Edit: just realized this was Europe, so price/shipping may not be relevant but the Subaru Remanufactured Alternator has been solid for me.

Is this of any use? Shipping can be pricey but bought stuff from here before without any issues. If you look at the compatability list there is a lot of crossover too so might help

Finally got round to buying a new alternator, got it from Andys auto parts on ebay its now charging at 14.5 volts with everything on.

Not a hard fix apart from the blaring heat, 32 degrees and working in the sun, and i dropped a nut which i have yet to retrieve.
