2002 - Shaking at Higher Speeds - Why?

When reaching higher speeds, I would get the classic shaking and an alignment that pulled to the left that would indicate new rotors and brakes. I replaced rotors and brakes all around and replaced the front calipers because one was frozen. This improved the situation significantly. However, I am still getting a faint wisp of symptoms at higher speeds with shaking and, on occasion, though no always, a pulling to the left (sometimes it drives dead center and even pulls to the right on occasion depending on the wind direction and slope of the road. But if I hit a bump it tends to want to go to the left slightly).

From your experience, what are all other possibilities and reasons for the shaking and strange alignment situation from the best to the worst case scenario?

Thanks for your help in advance.

I had an irritating steering wheel shake in the 01 Outback VDC that I use to own. After balancing tires, lubing up the front brake pins numerous times, rotating tires, and doing a million other things, turned out it was worn out u joints in the rear driveshaft. Pulled off the driveshaft and took it to a local shop. It was $180 and the best single improvement on that car.

It's either out of balance tires OR your struts are shot. Before I got new struts the car would be shaking at 60+ even with an alignment. They wouldn't even come back up after being compressed that's how bad they were. Getting new struts solved the issue for me at least.

You'll Have to check the entire suspension out. First Balance your tires to rule that out. Like everyone else said it could be a ball joint, tie rod, strut, rack and pinion, rear sway bar, Control arm bushings... If you get an alignment/ tire balance done at a shop they'll check all this out for you and give you a rundown on what you'll need if they cant get it aligned.
