I'm looking for an interesting hitch receiver cover, or "plug" as some like to call it, and haven't really found anything worth salt. Well, maybe one or two but.....

Anything cool you guys have seen? Nicer Subaru ones are really tough to find. At least around here. Haven't really found anything on line either.

Any ideas? Pics?

Thanks!

......I just keep my hitch in and put a doll head over the ball
I've seen a few people doing that but since I have a 2 year old boy and 4 year old girl here at home I may get a few strange looks when I drop them off at daycare/school  Probably not the best idea for me. LOL There are some pretty uptight parents out there.

I like to take the hitch out anyway as I always end up smashing my knee on it or something. It freaking hurts bro. :icon_eek:

I like to leave the hitch in the receiver. If I get rear-ended, the ball and hitch are the first to center punch the radiator of the offending vehicle. I may be able to drive away after the accident but the other driver is left with a steaming mess. Touche'

I like that idea a lot. I think I would get a locking clevis pin though, I suspect it would just be too attractive to some light-fingered people.

I get 1,700 results for "hitch cover" in auto accessories on Amazon.

Well, this is what I have....

Chrome Trailer Hitch Receiver Tube Cover (Metal) Curt Hitch Covers 5351

Nothing special- I brought it to work and hit it with some 320 grit blast glass beads, so that its rather subdued, instead of the "bling bling" chrome look. I managed to get 2 of them, so, if anyone wants one thats been bead blasted, PM me:biggrin:

On another note, those other trailer hitches (esp. the Claymore) are VERY cool!! I wrote the company an email to see if they can get them in 1.25" sizes.

BTW, that same website has this:Smith & Wesson Six-shooter Metal Hitch Cover SPG Hitch Covers SPGSHC2001

Yes, it IS 1.25", but, the faux cylinder is SOOOO large, that wouldnt fit on my trailer hitch due to clearance issues with the bumper.:chair:
