Upstream o2 Air/Fuel Sensor P0131 code - SOLVED!

I need help with my Check engine light, I replaced the air/fuel sensor (Upstream) with a Bosch Universal Part Number: 15732 I picked up at autozone today.

I simply wired it to the old Denso connector. "bosch universal color chart" first image on google images. :)

Signal is Black to blue, Ground is Grey to White, Heater is white to black, White to black.

I'm still getting a code and today I drove about 55 miles to try a Drive cycle and that did nothing.

I think it would help if there was a 2003 Subaru Forester 2.5x Air/Fuel sensor wire harness side pinout with perhaps color code chart even. I just like to be double sure before I go out and buy a new sensor if that's even the problem... the hassle and feeling like i'm running around in circles researching about this DTC.

I found this I don't know If I trust it because it's for Legacy Outback not Forester and it might be different.

According to FSM for 03 Legacy.
Back view of the harness side connector.
Lock tab on top

2 1
4 3

2 = Red
1 = white
4 = Y/R
3 = Green

Y/R is 12v from the fuse box for the heater.
Green is heater ground. Should show less than 1.0v with key On.
White is Sensor bias voltage ~ 2.0-2.25v with engine idling.
Red is sensor bias voltage ~ 1.75-2.0v engine idling.

Most forum members feel the Denso O2 sensor, what comes on the Forester, works better with the engine ECM.

In addition, if you go with an aftermarket sensor, get the factory/OEM direct fit, which doesn't require rewiring. :wink:

If the CEL is still on, have it cleared, as not all CEL codes will clear on their own. :icon_eek:

Thankyou! That helped , So I concluded that the sensor was wired 100% correctly And it still threw the DTC. They gave me a defective sensor apparently. I noticed that the output range for is it is 0.1v - 0.8v which is not right it seems either. DON'T BUY UNIVERSAL THEY SUCK!!! Anyways So I picked up a replacement Denso 234-9015. CEL is gone!!! Problem Solved.
