I would consider the Honda Passport as JonDeeZee commented in an earlier post after his CVT broke down. I am just not sure if the gas economy is as good as the FXT (I am running mine on 87 octane) or the handling is as well (mine has the 20mm rear sway bar). The stock ground clearance is slightly lower as well. I had 7 Hondas before and they were all bulletproof in terms of reliability.

Really!!! you're going with that monstrosity!!! Good Luck with it. Btw, which model? base, 300 mile or 500 model.
Actually I love the looks. It's the future. It won't rust apart like every other car in Minnesota. It's fast. It's clean. Hardened stainless steel finish is very difficult to damage. Bang your doors into it all day, it won't matter except that the sentry mode cameras will probably get you arrested. To answer your question, I ordered the 2 motor AWD 300+ mile range. Features I'm excited about are dog mode and camping mode, 2 things that aren't possible with a fossil fuel car. Also 120v, 220v and compressed air outlets in the bed. I guess I can understand why it would look like a monstrosity to old people. I'm only 71 and try not to judge the elderly. ;-)

I'll be keeping my 2014 Forester until then. I do like it a lot, more than the Hondas and Toyotas that I've had. But it's time for me to join the future. Like I said I'm 71. Don't have time to wait forever.

😄 👍 Thats the spirit!! never feel old!! You Really Are as Young as You Feel!! Look at least one thing is for sure, you'll never have any door dings or scratches with that truck! ....everybody would be too scared to park next to that thing! 😄

We have owned 2 Toyotas
A 71 Prius and a 2014 Prius V.
The Prius was traded in on the V with 305,000 miles and still was running well when wextraded it in
The Prius V was traded in on our 2020 Forester Touring with 230,000 miles and was still in excellent shape.
We traded for the Touring mainly for it's 4 wheel drive capabilities in winter driving.
Miss the 42-50 mpg of the Prius V, but are loving the Touring's options and the snow traction. We had a 14 in snow event in Lincoln and the Subaru lived up to it's hype.
4 Stars so far. MPG overall in 6000+ miles is 27.5 mpg. Only about 1900 highway miles.

This built on the Escape chassis, I will wait till the Outerbanks or Badlands come out which are built on an all new frame. TBH, all i hear is good story's about tte sport so far! (y)

I haven’t driven a new Pathfinder but the new Rogue is really impressive and worth looking at. Also highly recommend the Kia Sorento if you’re already looking at bigger vehicles like the Pathfinder.

Other than the frame the Sport is different from the ground up. I like you, have my sights on a full size Bronco but at this point if someone doesn't have an early reservation in (made before September) you'll probably not get one until late MY22 or MY23.

Hello all! :)
Quoting Bilbo, "I think I'm quite ready for another adventure."
Had the ups and downs with my 14 XT Touring , was a love hate relationship. Dealership(Rafferty Subaru) servicing was the worst.
Subaru problems seem to continue based on my own experience as well as other members postings here. They are NOT the same Subs which were known for the ruggedness and quality.

So Im looking to part ways, my current list of cars are(no particular order):

2021 Bronco
2021 Santa Fe
2021 Defender 110
2021 RAV4
2021 Grand Cherokee L
2022 Nissan Pathfinder

Defender is nice but to get what i like price jumps to 60K, so I think this drops to the bottom of the list. Santa Fe prolly is not on the same level as the Bronco\Defender but it looks great and tech is top notch.
Not sure what other models to put on the list...

Can you guys please give me your suggestions and reasons as to what you would look for?

Just added the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder to the list

Thank You in advance...
Rav 4 Prime, if you can find one in the USA.
We are #47 on our dealer's list. He expects to get 3 this year. The car has great specs.
We bought a 20 Forester Touring to ride us over for 2 to 4 years for a delivery.

Man... if you consider electric vehicles, the Rivian SUV or the Fisker Ocean could be up your alley. I am only mentioning these due to seeing most other options already mentioned, but did not see these. I am personally very interested in both, though the Firsker Ocean seems way less off-road worthy.

With the price of gasoline over $4.50 per gallon, I started researching EVs and hybrids. The RAV4 Prime looked good until I noticed that it starts out at over $40,000. You can get a RAV4 Hybrid for $10,000 less, and the avg MPG is 40 MPG.. At $5 per gallon, that $10,000 will buy 2000 gallons of gasoline. That will carry you over 80,000 miles and does not even consider the costs to charge up the Prime.

I've been using Rafferty since 2015 (switched from the dealer where we bought the car) and have been very happy with their service department. What issues did you have?

I play the "if I had to replace my Forester, what would I pick?" game frequently. It's just a game, because I'm very happy with our 2015 2.5i Premium, enough so that we invested more than $1k last year to replace the infotainment system and speakers.
I also like the reliability of the Forester. I call it an honest car. It does not remind me of a scam game from marketers and auto corporations. I believe that in any business there should be honesty. I could even find an online casino at https://gamblebeaver.com/best-payout-online-casinos/ with fair rules. They guarantee fair and timely payments and at the same time they have a very small financial entry threshold for online games. Therefore, if the creators of gambling games offer us fair conditions, then representatives of a Japanese brand with a long history should not be worse. Therefore, if we imagine such a situation and play such a game, I can’t even immediately say which option I would like to change my Forester to.

I care about reliability, utility, comfort, safety and outward visibility. Not about high-performance or sporty handling. So with that in mind I'd probably look at a CX-5 again. I say "again" because it was on our shortlist in 2014 when we bought our Forester, and we passed on it mostly because it seemed cramped and claustrophobic inside. But the current version, which I've sat in but not driven, is a little looser. And a smaller human might not have had an issue with either version. I've owned two Mazdas in the past, and both were great cars. (I've also owned two Toyotas, and likewise.)

CX-5's rep is as a reliable car that performs well and is fun to drive. Not as utilitarian as I'd like, but still a practical vehicle for many.
If I played a game where I wanted to replace my Subaru, I would still choose Some kind of pickup truck with a lot of space and a powerful engine.

From your list, the 2021 Bronco seems like an exciting choice, especially if you're looking for ruggedness and quality. The Santa Fe also catches your eye with its sleek design and top-notch technology. Both are great options to consider! If you're open to suggestions, I'd recommend taking a look at the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. It offers a blend of sportiness, electric power, and modern features. The 2021 Mazda CX-5 is another reliable choice known for its performance and stylish design. And if you will still need to transport the auto you buy, you may want to shipvehicles.com. Now you're ready for anything, I think.
