Side view mirror defroster

Hey all, just got a 2017 2.5i Touring model and noticed that when I turn on the rear window defroster the side view mirrors don't have the indicator light illuminated. I can see that there is an indicator. Can anyone tell me if theirs light up please or do I have a problem with it?

The indicators on the mirrors don't light up to show they're on. The light on the deicer button will be the only thing to illuminate.

I found a bit of information on this forum that found the heating elements under the wipers will only turn on at 41 F (5 C) and the mirrors will turn on at a slightly higher temperature. If you hold the deicer button on for about 3 seconds the light will flash and force the heating elements to turn on. (there should be no reason to do this though) It's just good to know!
