Replacement clutch cost 99 Forester - Sydney

Just had the '99 Limited Forester's clutch die on me this weekend in the Blue Mountains. Couldn't get it towed to my guy in Sydney by NRMA so have left it in Blackheath to get fixed. What sort of price range would I be looking at?

By way of background I got a few shudders over the last few weeks going around sharp turns, up hill etc but nothing major. It seemed sluggish on the way up the mountains on Friday evening then Saturday morning just got worse and worse until it wouldn't move. Engine turns on fine, no warning lights but putting it in gear does nothing.

thanks in advance

Clutch now sorted so just for information:

- 1999 limited, 156k
- clutch replacement was $1,295 all up parts and labour by Blackheath Automotive
- clutch action is now quite good and not as heavy as it used to be
- may have lost the old subi "clutch-hold" but i'm not complaining
- at the same time there was another forester in there for exactly the same thing :p
