Anyone using these? Looking for feedback as mine (OE) are knocking more than a priest's knee. Performance seems OK, but over bumps, especially at slow speed it's loud

I see rowsi from Ireland has them and is happy, and Irish roads can be as bad as UK's, so there's one endorsement

Anyone else?

Cheers

Yeah, next to no feedback for Pedder's on Subaru's

I really don't want the car lowered from stock OE height either

Tricky eh?

It's deffo the bushings in the top the damper housing - the one that always goes and causes the plunger to slop about and knock

I'm on my second set now. The last ones came from Fivos's old FSTi which hadn't covered too many miles, but now all of mine are knocking again. I know about the grease 'fix' and I have done that before, but it doesn't last

The whole thing is a real problem. After much consternation I tried a set of brand new coilovers (Jamsports) but couldn't get on with them - unstable and crashy

I suppose if money was no object, I would go either for new OE, or just maybe try a coil again - but something proper like Ohlins, or KW V3, but I doubt they are available for the FSTi

Thanks for the feedback Euan. That's a shame and puts the Pedders out for me

Is that right the Meisters are BC's ? Another option out then

I had a set of Bilstien coils. Lasted 1.5K till all the bushings were knocking

Hey Arnie, no I sold the car with all 4 knocking.

Once up to speed (anything over ~30mph I couldn't hear them (or they stopped) and performance seemed fine. OK they were slightly bouncy I suppose but that's the nature of the Forester?

Of course I made the new owner aware of this and pointed out the decision of what to do was best left to him as every option seemed not to be without some degree of compromise

I have replaced the car with a hatch Impreza which of course I have fettled (some threads from me on SN). Runs nicely - 'flat' firmish with decent compliance and rotation. While I don't think the Forester should even run like the Impreza, a little more toward that would have been nice

Good to hear from you
