New Subaru Toolbox Update!!! It FINALLY recognized my SD card.

I just today tried (again, after nearly 9 months of trying) to get Subaru Toolbox to recognize my 2015 Forester Maps SD card (2013 Q3)--- and it FINALLY DID!!!

What happened first was that there was a recent update to the Subaru Toolbox application for the PC (I'm using BootCamp Windows emulator on my iMac) --- I downloaded the update, and, by golly, Subaru Toolbox FINALLY recognized my SD card!

Then I noticed that they finally made a Mac OSX version of Subaru Toolbox, so I downloaded that, tried it out on my Mac, and it worked, too, to recognize my SD card!!!

I finally was able to order the new SD card for my 2015 Forester --- it said it's part T1000-24532, released ed.2015/2016 --- it says "First GPS fix: 03.07.2015".

When I ordered it online, the girl on the phone said that it takes at least an hour for you to get an email confirmation of the purchase, so we'll see. I had (back in August 2015) received an email from someone from Subaru of America, saying, with an e-receipt, I would get reimbursed for the maps update purchase. Hopefully, that is still good. The website said I should get the new SD card in a couple of days.

We'll see!!!

Will do. Just got an email saying the new SD card should arrive in a couple of days....this Wednesday.

I sent an email to Subaru of America, reminding them of their promise to reimburse me for the SD purchase, so we'll see how that goes, too. Haven't heard back from them yet, though.

Success!

Just received the new 2015 Forester Maps SD card today. It does appear to be a more current version --- my old one that came with the car was 2013.Q3, and this new one is 2014.Q3.

The part # is T1000-24551.

I could tell it was a newer version because it now correctly shows the on-ramp to go south on 880/17 freeway --- just recently (in the past year) they changed the southbound on-ramp to the other side of the street, whereas, before, both the northbound and southbound on-ramps were on the same side of the street.

It's not 2015 or 2016, but at least it's better than having a 2013 version.

Now to see when/whether Subaru of America will honor their promise to me to fully reimburse me for this update.....

How long did it take you to load the new SD card? I just received this same part # for my 2014 Forester and after a series of restarts of the head unit, it seems to stay stuck on the final portion of the load bar. Not sure if I'm missing something or if the SD card I got is corrupted. Any help or insight you have would be much appreciated!

Thanks for the update! This sounds like the same sort of update cycle I used to have with an old Garmin unit I had, so I'm not too surprised by it. I went ahead and checked with Subaru yesterday and they offered a courtesy update, so I ordered it this morning. I wish the 2015's just had the 3-year update guarantee that the 2016 models got, but this beats nothing!

I installed a new SD card in my Forester yesterday, updating from the 2012 maps to the 2015/2016 maps. It appeared to install successfully on the first try and required one power cycle to reboot. Sounds good, so far, right?

Now voice navigation does not work at all. I press the voice command button, get the prompt, and say "navigation". I get the navigation beep and it immediately says "sorry, voice command failed". It doesn't even give me time to say anything.

Is this a known problem? These chips are expensive and I wonder if I got a lemon or whether they all do this.

I hate to unearth a thread from the dead, but I received a shipping notice a week or two from Here Maps that a new 2016/2017 SD card was being sent to me for my 2015 Forester. I hadn't ordered anything, so I gave them a call to see what it was about. All they could tell me is there was a "defect" with the card I received last year and this fixes it. Anyone else get this? I assume it's probably the broken voice control, but who knows. Unfortunately, I moved since the initial order last year, so I'm waiting for them to straighten it out and send the card to my correct address.
