Not a DIY er! Dump it!

If you're not a Do It Yourself er then dump the car. There are more repairs down the road like the engine. Also how bad is the RUST? That will prove to be decisive in my book.

 

Do you have maintenance records regarding timing belt replacement? You should be just starting out on belt #3 with that mileage, and the older the car gets the more important it is to replace all the associated mechanical components—water pump, tensioner, idlers.

With that many miles, parts are going to wear out & need to be replaced. As Bruce noted above, the timing belt maintenance is critical, as the engine is interference fit. Loose the timing belt & it could cost you as much as your '03 is worth to repair the damage! :icon_eek:
