Hiya- We have a 2010 Forester with the gray interior which is what makes me most nervouse about this new investment. Anyone have ideas on how to get out grease stains? I think we have one on the back of the passenger seat...Thanks!

NEVER NEVER NEVER USE GREASED LIGHTNING IN A CAR INTERIOR, IT IS ACIDIC AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

My detailer used Window aerosol with ammonia and clean microfiber cloth followed by diluted Pro-Sol, which you can only get a pro shop. I've had good look with Spotshot and Scotchguard interior cleaner, as well.

Finally got the food grease out of seat fabric

Hi!

I just bought a 2011 Foz with platinum fabric seats on March 2nd. On March 4th my son borrowed it and one of his friends got pizza grease on the front seat! I tried everything gentle to remove the stains and nothing worked UNTIL someone mentioned using diluted dish soap (because it was a food stain). I used a soft toothbrush and gently scrubbed in the soap and water mixture. I then used a commercial steam cleaner and ta da, IT WAS GONE!

I then proceeded to spend the entire day detailing my new ride and it's gorgeous! My products of choice for washing, waxing, etc. are Zaino. IMO nothing protects the finish better. Not affiliated with Zaino in any way, shape or form, just a very satisfied customer.

"Dawn" Dishwashing soap is the best for any type of grease. Especialy oil stained hands after working in the engine bay. I know alot of mechanics that can vouch for this. As for the interior, diluted of coarse like you did and a wet vac. I use my Bissel Spotbot Remover to rinse and dry.

I tried WD-40 for grease and chocolate on the Platinum Gray seat. It left a stain that hasn't evaporated. I heard some Dawn will take out the WD-40 stain. I should have gotten the Scotchguard package, I guess. I never had seats stain like the Subaru.

If you want to remove grease stain from your car than you can use these methods. Spray the carb cleaner directly on the grease spot for a couple of seconds to momentarily dissolve the grease. Using a clean shop towel to absorb the stain out of the carpet or seat cover. You may have to repeat this a couple of times. You will notice the stain will vanish quite quickly.

If the carb cleaner didn't remove all of the stain or you couldn't use it because of discoloration in your test area then we move onto the Shout method. Soak the effected area with Shout and let it sit for a couple of minutes. If it's really grimy then you will need to scrub with the bristle brush for about 10 seconds and check progress. If then stain lifts then you need to fire up your shop vac, pour a little warm water on the area and vacuum it up right away. Repeat this process and stains will go away most of the time.

I've always been amazed by the results I get from Fast Orange. Work a little in dry with a stiff brush, then follow with hot water and shop vac. I use it in laundry too, and not just for automotive grease stains either. Any type of grease stain.

We keep Stoner's products in stock and I generally offer up the Xenit products for hard stains. They have a foam for upholstery and a citrus version for hard surfaces, I prefer the foam version for most things. It will remove anything from coffee to lipstick, basically anything greasy. It also works perfectly for cleaning tennis shoes!

Hi,

Loctite 7850 - incredible hand cleaner, especially when it comes to removing oil and grease. It also works on other surfaces and materials, but would need the assistance of a wet rag or stiff brush on porous interior trim.

Kind Regards,

Eoin
