Air conditioning compressor bearing

From a recent service it was reported that my air con compressor bearing was on its way out.

Has anyone in the UK successfully replaced just the bearing rather than the whole compressor unit?
There is already a post on this forum from a guy in the US that had done just that but sourcing the MT2021 bearing in the UK is tricky.

I've not changed anything as yet. I've found a German site that sells multiple versions of (new) Subaru compressors, they provide technical drawings similar to the one that Don posted above (probably the same site)

I was going to remove my compressor without taking off the gassed hoses to confirm which version of compressor we have on the Foz and whether its compatible with anything else and go from there

I am still using my original one, if the info above regarding the dust is correct then I dont have an issue. Mine doesn't squeel like yours did so I think I was jumping the gun slightly. I'll probably take of the AC belt off at some point and check the spin of the pump on its own to see how it feels.

So you kept the original clutch and just fitted a new bearing? remove and repress the new on in I assume. Have you got the Bearing Boys part number please as their search is not bringing up the MT2021
