@eelnod Totally the opposite experience for me. Here in the Illinois burbs of St. Louis AAA's insurance is somewhat higher than what we're currently paying.

We would have received a discount on auto if we also got their homeowner's insurance, but the inspector they sent wouldn't underwrite our house unless we replaced the entire electrical system. Our current (no pun intended) insurer has no problem with the wiring

IIRC, one advantage to those who use a dealer for repairs, is that the Subie Roadside assist will tow the car to the nearest dealership, rather than a specific distance.
If that's where you want the car to go, it could be an advantage.
Myself, I avoid dealers like the plague, and AAA has other advantages, like any car is covered.

Up here in British Columbia, auto insurance rates are very high with a government monopoly of a basic insurance but we can buy optional insurance from third party.

Subaru Roadside Assistance can be pretty reliable, but it's not a bad idea to play it safe, especially if you're unsure about how wide their coverage is in rural areas. AAA is well-known for its extensive coverage, so it might offer that extra peace of mind.

Before making a decision, you could reach out to stuck.solutions to get a more specific idea of the coverage in your area. They might be able to give you some insight to help with your choice.

I was told by the sales agent that Subaru roadside assistance in Canada is provided by CAA (affiliated with AAA in the US). They basically offer the same services, not just breakdown towing to dealer but also keys locked in car, fuel delivery, tire fixing, battery boosting, trip planning, etc. The coverage does extend into US, but not sure if Subaru uses a different "network" for these services as they have a different number to call for service in US or if they use AAA there as well.
