I went the Ironman 4x4 route (medium) for both my Forester & Outback Wilderness. Pretty happy with them. The misses & I like to zip along trails, so the medium spec soaks up the bumps pretty well & is great for the daily drives. Pic for reference.

@Boz Sorry if you have already said it in another post. How much did the lift kit cost ya? I am trying to keep my wilderness stock but seeing all the great stuff on here has me wanting some beefier tires. :/

It was $1049 for the coil over kit (med) Ironman 4x4 often runs a 20% off event. Installed with a friend in about 4 hours. LP Aventure LP8 wheels & 225/65/17 Nitto Nomad Grapplers. Roughly $2850 +/- total for the whole setup.

Nice, I just did the ironman (medium) install by myself, took me about twice as long over a course of two days and I'm sore as hell now 😆 . I'm still on stock tires, probably will be for a while longer but thankfully looks decent in person.

Installed Ironman medium this past weekend. I have to say, when the vehicle is unloaded, it does not feel good on downtown LA streets. You'll definitely feel the added stiffness, whether that's from the springs or the way the dampers are valved. When I had my wife, kid, dog, and some stuff in the trunk, it felt better and just a tad stiffer than stock Wilderness suspension.

I noticed it's stiffer too with no weight in the car, but not too bad. I feel more planted on tight/fast turns and the speed bumps in my neighborhood feel much better with the Iron man setup. I'm used to extra stiff rides though so this is still good for me even with my health issues. We're going to be in So Cal in a few weeks so I'm curious to see how it's going to feel like down there lol. Big bear first though. :)

Can’t get over how great this looks brother
Thanks bro. I'm really happy with how it turned out also. There's some minor rubbing in front wheel well as expected, but nothing major. There's also slight rubbing on the passenger side front control arm when fully locked to the right. I might need some 5mm spacers to clear it. Folks with aftermarket wheels with a more aggressive offset shouldn't have this issue. No rubbing with normal driving in the city so far. Only slightly when I was parking at work (which requires some full lock either side).

what size did you get?
245/65/17

just curious. got 2023 wilderness myself. why upgrade it more? is there that much for of a performance when upgrading it. I hade a 2020 sport previous to it.

@puffdc

I've heard from multiple people who daily drive their subaru with KO2s that they have buyers remorse, and I've had even more tell me they love the Toyo Open Country AT3, those might be my new tires when my Nittos are done.

@formulapaolo

Once your suspension settles, you should be good with the ride! It'll still be stiff, but not too stiff if you get what I mean.

@ronpan74

In my case, while the tires were good, I wanted something larger with better side wall, and in regards to the height, I came from a '19 sport with an Ironman lift on it, and had to install the heavier weight version of it on my wilderness as I was already scraping a bit at the stock height, and as I was used to my lifted sport, I kept hitting my head when getting into my wilderness haha + I didn't like how soft the stock suspension was.
