2021 - Geolander G015 vs Nomad Grappler vs Scorpion A/T Plus?

Vehicle Details:
2021 Forester Premium
I've been researching tires for a while, and these are my top 3. I want something that is quite confident in the rain, and that gives me some of the best snow/ice performance that I can squeeze out of a non-winter tire. Also having something that lets me go off road to a mild (to maybe somewhat moderate-ish) degree is ideal as well. Something that can soak up potholes would be cool too... At first I was set on the Geolanders, as they seemed to get solid overall marks, but then I found the Nomad Grapplers which seemed to have a lot of really positive reviews, and then the Scorpions came on my radar, which seem to have fairly similar reviews to the Grapplers. So any experience with these, please share and help me pull the trigger! Thank you.

I may sound like a broken record but here it goes again. I am a strong believer in the Geolander G015. Had them on a Ram1500 (LT Version), a Dodge Dakota, MY20 Forester and now MY23 Forester Wilderness. They are a great all weather tire with very good (mild) off road abilities. I am able to get to all my fishing holes and never worry about loosing a bead or a puncture. Drove all year round in my trucks with them on and never had any issues. Combine the tires attributes with the Subaru AWD you get a very versatile and capable vehicle.
I found the same thing the more I looked the more tires showed up on my radar. The Yokohama's were on my radar but it was by luck I originally got the G015's for my Ram. A local tire shop had buy 3 get 1 free promo and the tires were on sale as well and top it off there was a $75.00 Yokohama mail in rebate. If memory serves after the rebate I ended up paying $575.00 CAD mounted and balanced out the door. So the price combined with the reviews I pulled the trigger and have never looked back.

Sounds good, have you had a good amount of snow/ice time on them?

Honestly, most tires will be a step up from the OEM ones. I personally have the Firestone Weathergrip Tires in my OEM size of 225/60R17 and they have been great. I went from just having crappy Walmart tires to these and it was an insane difference. I am not saying you need this exact model, but something with the three peak snowflake rating will do wonders. I personally know other Forester owners IRL who got the Michelin Defenders and Cross Climate 2s from Costco and have been very pleased with the winter performance.

With the trucks 5 winters and lots of snow driving. In fact I use the small Dakota truck to pull out stuck vehicles on our lot. Have not had as much time in crazy winter weather with the G015's and the Forester but the time I have had they have been great. The Yoko's are not as good as dedicated quality winter tires but they are very close.
Cool. I saw a bunch of geolander reviews from people with big trucks that loved them, but then one a lighter car it seemed like the guy wanted to hype them up, but that they didn't seem super great. If there were more Forester/Outback geolander reviews it would be real nice. A small truck can't be massively heavier than a forester though, so that's good to know!

Geolander G015s are the best tire I have ever owned. I've had these for abour 45,000 and still 7/32 of tread left. They are great off-road, in snow, ice and quiet on the road. I didn't see any decrease in mileage after putting them on and no increase in road noise. Perfect tire for the Forester (I have 2020 Limited).

I had the Geolanders on my Lifted 2018, and was very happy with them. Only had 40K km on them when I traded for my 2020. I put the Scorpions on that 3 years ago. Loved them enough to just put my second set on after just over 70k km, and still had a little life on them, but I was leaving on a 20k km trip which I am about 2k km into at the moment. The Scorpions are great in snow, rain, slush, dry, sand, gravel, and just about any surface I drove on so far. I don't do serious off-road or rock crawling, but I bet they would be fairly competent. More than half the mileage was towing our trailer, and had a canoe or two kayaks on the car as well. And they look tough too. Both sets were 225/65/17 and fit with no issues or rubbing. And they were on sale both times at my local Canadian Tire. As a note, I rotated them every 10k km, front to back, and back to front opposite. So they wore fairly even. I will probably stick with them as long as I own Subarus.
