Been liking my 2020 Forester so far, except for one thing I just realized after having one of the factory wiper blades just start to tear. I went to a local auto parts store, bought a pair, then tried to do a parking lot install as I normally do with wiper blades. They didn't work. Kept falling out when I'd lower them onto the windshield. Returned them and the parts clerk looked up which ones they take. Apparently for the new body style, Subaru switched them to a 19mm push button attachment instead of the old J hooks that worked for literal decades prior. They quoted me for $144 for the driver's side blade, and $75 for the passenger's side because they're not readily available. I just opted to order them from Rock Auto at a lot cheaper (talking less than $15 each for OE quality ones) and hoping they don't self destruct in the meantime. Knowing how difficult it is for rural area parts stores to get them I may order a couple more sets sometime.
Just a heads up, don't expect to get compatible wiper blades on a moments notice if you have a '19+ Forester. Which I think Subaru really should have known better as wiper blades have a tendency to self-destruct suddenly, and it's not akin to their brand built around safety when drivers have to drive for a week with peeling wiper blades due to having to wait for new ones to come in.
