2019+ Learned Something About TPMS Low Pressure Light

Recently, the TPMS light came on. I figured since my car is two years old, maybe I needed to add air. 3 tires were at 31psi while the fourth was at 29psi. After adding air, the light cleared. The light came back on yesterday. The original low tire was at 29psi. After clearing the light, I went to the tire shop to have it repaired. All good now. Things I learned:
1) Since I could not find the TPMS setpoint in the manual, I believe it is at 30psi since only one tire was below that.
2) I have to go 25mph to clear the light once the tires are over 30psi. The light will not clear just because you put air into the tire. So if you are troubleshooting, keep this in mind.
3) I had this particular tire externally patched about 2K miles ago. Driving caused this patch to wear down enough to cause the leak. Spend the money and time, IF POSSIBLE, to get the patch done internally.

Wow. I'm surprised that patching a tubeless tire externally is even legal. Even with my mountain bike tires, I'm being told to only ever patch them internally and replace them as soon as possible after they suffered a slash. (Not talking about plugging punctures, of course). Glad nothing worse happened to the OP, and thanks for the tips!

I would guess the first time was plugging a puncture. It was a slow leak that was caused by a screw. However, with miles put on, the exterior patch (A bristled pipe cleaner is the closest description) wore down, allowing air to leak again.
