I’ve had my ‘19 Jasper Green Touting for 18 months, and am ready to de-bling or “butch it up” somewhat. Although I love the green, I believe this makes my objective harder. Note I added the sport grille immediately - one hardly notices this. I’m not looking to change out the wheels.
My thoughts:
A dark graphite vinyl wrap for the silver on the side rockers and front/rear fasciae, as well as the mirror caps.
I’ve contemplated going all black on the grill and fog light surrounds. I’m concerned it won’t look as good on the green based on some photoshopping I’ve done. I’m wondering if the dark graphite might coexist better on these parts - leaving the grille insert black.
I’ve found no Jasper Green Touring mods. I love Moraine’s mods on his touring, but it’s white.

I am looking at getting the Metalic Dark Grey Touring and thinking the same about it as you. Way too much chrome, but the two areas are the fog lights and grill. Could you show what your current sport grill looks like? In terms of the fog lights could one just replace them with the ones from the Sport models for less chrome?

I was thinking white for the touring but just yesterday there were 2 white new foresters in the store parking lot. Plus, I think I would want to keep it cleaner with it being white....honestly do not know on color.

If there's too much bling and chrome and shiny surfaces on the Touring, why not just get a Sport and add the options that the Touring sees as standard? It would probably be less expensive.

While you can't get leather on the Sport, you'd be able to get the rear braking, the Harman Kardon and more...

The chrome stands out less on the lighter colors like white and silver. You can order dark pieces from the sport model, just shop around for the best prices. I have all the part numbers if that helps. About $550 for grille pieces and foglamp surrounds. I think they'll look good on the gray vehicle.
I'm thinking I'll do the graphite gray wrap on my foglight surrounds, too. AND - maybe the grille surround, but leave the Subaru bar chrome. Just not thinking all black will work on the green car.
I'll expect to see a trim level for 2022 that does much of this. Or maybe the sport will be tweaked to be more in line with the Outback and Crosstrek .

If you wrap the silver on the lower side of the doors, don't forget to wrap the lower trim on the front and rear bumpers, too, as it's the same silver tones.

When it comes to the grill, I'm just the opposite in that I want to keep the surround chrome and then the crossbar to be blacked out to make the Subaru logo really pop...

Hmm, I could go that route, too. Looks like it's time for Photoshop!
I believe these are the black parts. Foglight trim first.

Yeah, I'm kind of liking this look... I'm a fan of some of the bling and the shine... I added the chrome around the fogs, but the layout of the SJ vs the SK is a big difference...

If you had an SJ - we could split the cost - you take the outer ring and I take the crossbar....

Just de-blinged my 2020 Limited.
Given that you changed the foglights over to the LED, I assume you bought the existing factory parts made for the Sport trim? Sucks that the black are like twice as much as the chrome!
I'm definitely moving in the graphite gray direction for my jasper green Touring lower rockers/fascias/mirror caps - and the foglight surrounds. Still contemplating if I touch the grille at all (other than my sport mesh already installed).

Styles/Trends keep the $$ flowing! Chrome/Black has come around a couple times in my lifetime. As for the gold trend - ugh! I've always had too few years in my age to even consider liking that. I bet you'll still find it on some new Lexus models. Kitchen and Bath hardware has veered in that direction as of late, and I'm not sure I could go there (yet!).
I'm not looking to eradicate all chrome from my Touring. And in fact my main focus has been on toning down the silver on the lower rockers and bumpers and mirror caps. Just too much going on for the darker colors. I actually bought the bodyside moldings but couldn't bring myself to install them as it was yet just one more busy thing on my jasper green car. Maybe after my mods I'll put them on??

Hi Ive got one i swapped out the grill for a black one vinyl wrapped the window trim charcoal OEM wheels I still haven't done the swapped out the front and rear bumper guards[
Good pic of a gloss black mirror on Jasper Green. Did you wrap it yourself? I see you also turned the B/C pillars to gloss black - that looks good, too. I might have to do that. I went gloss black for the window surround - but haven't installed it yet (soon). Did you wrap the side rockers yourself? That one seems I should be able to do easily.

yes i did in gloss but it came off right away so I'm going to have to remove them and either put a matte black vinyl or a tougher plastic dip with a matte finish i think gloss for the surrounds and grille but matte black for everything else including rearview mirrors The rockers come off with body clips and the gray plastic pieces can be unscrewed from behind the trim

How difficult was vinyl wrapping your rearview mirrors? My Youtube feed is now full of vinyl wrapping videos:). I think the gloss black looks good - more premium than matte, avoids making it look like it has base car parts. I got a few vinyl quotes, with the best being $650 for mirrors and the lower silver rockers/fascia, $350 for the window surround. Seemed expensive until I got the $2k quote. I also found a local set of takeoffs for the sport wheels in black - but I haven't quite talked myself into that yet. I have a bunch of vinyl samples to determine what I want to do with the lower silver - I thought I wanted a dark gray (maintain the contrast/difference from other models), but now I'm wondering if I should just make it disappear and just blend in with the rockers/fascias.

Door Handles: The door pulls are available as OEM parts in the appropriate exterior color ($358 thanks to the front sensors). But the end pieces (i.e. where the key hole is) are not. Although I could easily paint them myself (order a rattle can/clear coat in the appropriate color), the odds that a piece of the door handle won't quite match is high. So I'd save ~$40 on prepainted parts, but then spend who knows how much on having a local shopt paint them (or do I do all parts myself with rattle cans??). But I dislike the chrome handles the most - darn the '19 Touring! I did order cheap black covers from China just for the heck of it - maybe interim until I determine my bodycolor handle path.

I feel your pain I wanted to color match the side view mirrors originally myself i just thought painting body color should be done by pros even small parts so I decided to wrap the covers i bought for $25 it won't damage the original part underneath and if I decide to paint the I'll just paint the covers $25 knockoffs compared to $90 OEM. I found titanium partial covers for the door handles it is a strip of matte steel that goes across the handle I'll post pictures when they come in I also found matte black covers so I'll decide when they arrive

Progesss! It's raining out, so sorry for the indoor shot. Spent the last day and a half pulling the lower door moldings, removing the silver accent molding from it, wrapping it (Avery satin black rock gray metallic) - and reinstall. My first wrapping, so good learning. The hardest part by far was removing the attachment tape and residue from the parts and my car. I ended up using a Wonder Wheel - a plastic wheel you put on a drill that removes the tape/residue without damaging the vehicle. 3M attachment tape then to reinstall.
I also stuck on my cheap eBay gloos black door handle covers ('19 Touring has chrome - ugh) and gloss black mirror caps. Interim for now until I wrap the mirror caps, as well as find a way to go bodycolor on my door handles that isn't $1,000.
I have gloss black die cut viny for the window surround - I could live with the chrome, but will install this soon to see if I like it better.
Already have the sport/Sport black grille and foglight surrounds. And rear emblems painted with plasti-dip. Oh - and the '22 Sport take-off wheels I bought a couple weeks ago.
Nice refresh of my almost 4yo Forester.

Did you bother removing and installing new tape on your door moldings??? Since you mentioned a "couple hours", I'm thinking not! Mine stretched over 2 days. Also- - very critical you don't get the tape too close to the edge. I actually pulled a piece back off to retape and fix it (you could see it in some spots).
My door handles are gloss black plastic stick-ons from Ebay (China). I'm surprised how well they work, and how good they look!! Interestingly enough, my driver's door handle chrome is delaminating. There was a bulletin out on this for 2019's. It might help me get body color door handles installed at something less than $1,000!! ....maybe. My service guy is looking into it.
