Have an issuse on my 2016 Forester.
20.000 miles on it.
Check engine light says check hill assist, emission control system and cruise control icon is on as well.
The fuel reader was not reading but after I turned car off and on it's back to full.
What's up with that??

Possibly? But if it's related to a recall (even if it's one you've done before) it's best to get them to fix it or check it again.

It can be a serious safety issue if that fails... if it doesn't light up your brake lights, you could get smacked from behind. That's why it was a recall to begin with.

Yes - get them to check it. I had the same problem a few weeks ago (on a late Friday afternoon no less) and luckily my service advisor was still there and she was able to pull a loaner out for my use over the weekend. Monday morning, they looked, made some adjustment (not sure what) to the recalled/repaired switch and all was fine.

You're new so you probably don't know how to search the discussion threads yet.

Question - have you had the brake pedal switch recall/repair done yet?

If not, get it done.

If you have - go back to the dealer and have them check the brake pedal switch as it COULD be misaligned and not sending the signal properly, causing all those features to throw up a the fault code.

Also - the admins will come in here to say that you will want to be sure to fill out your profile details (model, trim, year, etc.) to get the best forum experience...

SubaruForester.org can be a great help for you in all things Forester, not just "oh, geez, I've got this problem..." posts...

The brake pedal switch communicates information to ALL the computer controls or just about....

So get the dealer to do (or redo) the brake light switch recall / repair.
