2016 - Base - A/C pressure switch advice?

Vehicle Details:
2016 forester base model
My dad has a base model 2016 forester. Compressor turns on 95% of the time when we turn the car on. Usually lasts 5-10 mins then turns off. Sometimes when we turn ac on and then off again, it works. Sometimes have to turn car off then on again. Checked pressure and it was a little high, but so was I so so we bonded over that. Then I decided to release some pressure from the low pressure valve until it came out white. Used leak detector and didnt find any leaks (seemed obvious but checked anyways) Im assuming its the pressure switch or a faulty electrical connection. Thinking about changing the pressure switch myself before taking it in to a professional in hope of saving some money.

Does anyone have any other ideas for me to check?
Can anyone confirm for sure if the pressure switch in this model has a schrader valve?
Any advice or tips on changing this thing? Im not a car guy, but im handy and pretty smart (so they tell me).
Thank you all in advance!

I believe it is a three way switch. If the switch is operating normally, it will cut the compressor off with high or low pressure. From what I have seen, you will need the OEM procedure to effectively examine and charge the system.

The inspection for the triple switch.

To check the pressure Subaru suggest you run the car for 30 minutes(step 3) in the conditions set in step 2, before checking the pressure

One of the problems of just releasing the refrigerant is you will also remove oil from the system.
Once you release the oil it is hard to determine the correct amount to put back. It is better to follow the proper way to recover refrigerant in your Subaru.
