I've had a turbo leak on an FA20 motor for the past few weeks. Symptoms included a strong fuel odor, a whining noise, and noticeable loss of power. My handyman found a loose collar. He replaced the nuts with generic one (see image for location of the nuts).
The fuel smell disappeared and power mostly returned, but a faint whining noise remains.
I've found the collar isn't sold separately, and I'm worried the turbo may be damaged. I'm on a tight budget and specialist repair or a new turbo (over $1,000) would be costly.
Any recommendations for a collar replacement or affordable repair options?
