I posted about upgrading my stock Harman/Kardan non-nav head unit with an aftermarket Nav. Thanks for everyone's help on steering me towards the Parrot Asteroid Smart, and I'll buy the TomTom app for it.
Now I'm trying to find the right parts I need to do the install. So far I've picked out the Metra 70-7552 Harness for the radio, plus the ASWC-1 for my steering wheel controls. I think all that leaves me with is the dash kit and the wiring harnesses for retaining my factory USB and AUX ports in the center console.
I've emailed ae64, but no response as of yet. I don't know what his load is right now, but I am trying to tackle this install in the next weekend or so.
Can anyone please help me locate the parts I need to retain those two ports and does anyone have a solid part number for a good dash kit for this install?
As far as harnesses go, I'm not sure anyone besides ae64 has pre made ones available, so if someone knows what pieces I need and how to assemble them (i.e. a Metra part number plus some stereo connections from Radio Shack), I would greatly appreciate it.
I live on a Navy base in the Barracks, so I'm very limited on tools (I'll have to just go buy a pair of strippers and a soldering iron...no multimeter) and because I have to do this in a 95 degree parking lot, I'm trying to avoid having to take apart the car for more than just the final install, so I'm not even sure what harnesses are there for me to hook in to. Thanks!
