2015 - Cheaper Ditch Light Brackets - 2011 Tacoma will fit!

Hello All, i have referenced this forum time and time again for help and research but haven't contributed much. I am much more active on my motorcycle specific forums and wanted to make a contribution here.

I have a 2015 Forester XT touring. I have done some upgrades but nothing to void my warranty for a few more years.

I just installed the Glorilla Mud guards today because I'm going to be throwing A/Ts on it when these tires are up. Upon looking around for some bolt on off road parts I couldn't believe the prices on some of the ditch light brackets I've seen.
I appreciate small business but figured some people just don't have 100$ to spend on simple brackets for pods.

- I saw that Ditch light brackets are a dime a dozen for my dads 2011 Toyota Tacoma and got to thinking.

- I took some measurements. The hood mounts and length to the end of the hood is EXACTLY the same as the 2015 Forester XT Touring.

- The only thing that would be hard are the bends and angle in the bracket. I don't even need Ditch lights but ordered a set of brackets for a 2011 Tacoma to contribute the results to this forum.

- Low and behold the brackets fit perfectly and the angles and bends look like they were made for the Forester. I am posting pics to show.

- So after alot of words, 2011 TOYOTA TACOMA DITCH LIGHT BRACKETS FIT AT LEAST THE 2015 FORESTER XT. I ordered a pair off Amazon for $19 on prime and the brackets are supposed to fit 2005-2015 Tacoma.

- They are good quality, thick, and the bends are reinforced. They are definitely solid. Now I may order amber pods just because I have the brackets.

- I hope this helps some owners with an alternative for ditch lights and you could put the saved money towards better name brand lights.

Not yet its been one of those projects I didnt get around to yet cause I have an LED bar already but the brackets are on there without a light yet lol

You just reminded me to order the amber lights since winter is around the corner

For those with Eyesight equipped vehicles, note that this bracket (or really any type of hood-mounted bracket) could impact the proper working of eyesight. One of the other complaints I've also heard about hood-mounted lights is the glare the lights put forth from the shiny paint.

But good to know that they fit and work.

I have also heard mixed reports on that too so I will keep in mind if I have any issues after I put the lights on but thus far the brackets themselves haven't caused a problem up there.

I was thinking about getting one of those Matte Black hood stickers like the Jeep Trailhawks come with to reduce glare if it's a problem but usually ditch lights point outwards away from the hood to begin with so hoping I won't get much glare from the ditch lights

I bought a set of brackets from SMK fabrication that mount the ditch lights on the front doors - just in front of the triangle windows and they work great ... but cost a lot more than those 20 brackets from Amazon.

Another thread on here just started recently asking about "where" to get that matte black hood covering (like the new 2022 Wilderness).

I'll have to look that thread up, I have seen guys just tape the border of where they want it on the hood and use Matte black plastic dip to make w.e sized anti glare "sticker" they want on the hood.
