2015 - ABS and traction control warning lights?

Hi everyone.
I have a 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5 XS cvt. (South Africa)

Every now and again, I battle to start the car. The push-button LED stays amber and won't turn green. If I stamp the brake pedal hard a couple of times the light turns green and she does start, but the ABS and traction control warning lights come on.
Somebody said it might be linked to the switch above the brake pedal. I have also heard that this is a problem with the switch and that there was a recall.

I live in South Africa, so anyone with knowledge on the South African market, please can you advise.

Regards
Ronnie

Hi Craig.
Thank you for posting a response. I took the switch out today and cleaned the contacts with compressed air. I took a picture before removing it so that I could put it back as it was. Time will tell.

I really appreciate the help, thank you.

There’s a TSB on the brake light switch and it shows the adjustment procedure. If it’s off by a few MM, you may get the light show. Just use a paint marker on the adjustment nut. I had the same problem. All good now.
Thank you Theseus161.
Where would I find the TSB? Would you perhaps have a link?

Regards
Ronnie
