2015 - ABS and traction control warning lights?

Hi everyone.
I have a 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5 XS cvt. (South Africa)

Every now and again, I battle to start the car. The push-button LED stays amber and won't turn green. If I stamp the brake pedal hard a couple of times the light turns green and she does start, but the ABS and traction control warning lights come on.
Somebody said it might be linked to the switch above the brake pedal. I have also heard that this is a problem with the switch and that there was a recall.

I live in South Africa, so anyone with knowledge on the South African market, please can you advise.

Regards
Ronnie

I was going to suggest the brake light switch, but I'm in the US. When I had the switch replaced (US recall), I was not having issues that I knew about. However after the switch was replaced, I had an issue a few weeks later with all of the lights going crazy when I started the car (out on a Friday, running errands) and was able to get into the dealer... The switch was out of adjustment (loose?) and they fixed and have not had an issue since.

That should be your first check. From my understanding, it's not a huge cost point and is/was an easy fix.

Hi Craig.
Thank you for posting a response. I took the switch out today and cleaned the contacts with compressed air. I took a picture before removing it so that I could put it back as it was. Time will tell.

I really appreciate the help, thank you.
