2008 Forester Sport-Good?

Hi all: attached is a link to a Wisconsin dealer who has a 2008 Forrie Sport with 50% of the mileage that my 2003 Forester has........

He claims that the HGs are not at all leaking/weeping/sweating, all maintenance has been done as per schedule and Carfax seems to indicate a clean car.....

I would sell my 2003 locally and fly out to Wisconsin to do the pickup...........

Your thoughts are welcome..........they want 13,999 and I would offer 12,250 to start.......

See the car here...just needs a spoiler on the gate and I'd be happy......

The Sports models are nifty and real lookers... just keep in mind that you'd also lose a lot of features, which you may or may not miss. The Sports models do not have

fog lights
heated seats
power driver's seat
heated outside mirrors
heated windshield wiper de-icer
or roof rack cross bars.

i just called and offered them 11 :icon_wink:

objective, straightforward input:
i love my 08 sports in every way shape and form, it's truly a wonderful car
i don't miss any of the items pleiad7 astutely pointed out, but here in phoenix there's not a big need for heated anything, you being up in new hampsha might make that a whole different deal
definitely the culmination of the SG body, none look better from the factory than the sports

not sure i'd commit to selling your current sight unseen on the Foz though, you'd be putting yourself in a potentially tight spot

let us know how it goes, best of luck with it

Ha ha ha.....don't like that Blue much, do ya, Bobby??

I checked further and it turns out that there's some passenger side front fascia damage that the photos don't show........so this one is out, the distance being too much to handle for me with my work schedule.

Thanks, Silke, for the specs of what the Sports does not have.......I'd rather have the Cold Weather Package for sure BUT, since we don't have it on the 2003, they would hardly be missed.......after 5 years in NH and several decent winters, we survived w/o the heated seats. My wife, on the other hand, would love them but this is MY car, after all........

What I do want is the Sports grill, alloys, upgraded stereo and climate system and the repeaters in the mirrors......the blue or the dark grey are fantastic, IMHO.....and getting a Blue one would drive Bobby nuts......

Going to have to see if we can find one closer to NH. Silke, the Blue one in WI did come with the aero crossbars so perhaps they were part of the package??

If anyone hears of a nice 2008 Sports NA AT with decently low mileage and a good service record, please let me know........any color is good, the red being my least favorite.....

Thanks for the advice, ladies and gentlemen...........Jackie at Annapolis just hooked us up with a great deal on the kayak carrier so all I need now is the newer car.....

Rest assured that the 2003 stays with me until a Sports model is in the driveway....

You might have been able to haggle the price down even lower if it has minor damage?

That price isn't a whole lot more then my house repair projects this summer are going to cost me. :icon_eek:

Thanks, Dan.........

I'm going try to find something closer to home. The blue Sport that I originally asked about was supposedly in great mech. shape even with the mild damage but the distance again was too much........

I found several in Mass. That I'm going to look at. I knew that this might happen after I finally got my repeaters installed..........figures.
