Wiring for trailer

I've got a quesiton for the electrically inspired here. I need to hook up a small trailer to my '06 Forester. The trailer uses a three wire harness just like the wiring for the car. I know that here is a connector in the spair wheel well that can be used to hook up converter, which my trailer does't need. Does anyone know/have the wire function colors for this connector?

Does the trailer only have the two red taillights that act as running, brake and signal lights? I've never heard of a three wire connector, that's why I ask. The wiring kit you would get at the Subaru dealer(or after market, your choice) will have the converter and simply plug into the existing harness in the right rear of your '06 and come to a four pin connector. As your '06 has separate brake and signal lights, you need the converter to properly control the lights on your trailer.
