Yes , another good day I hope *
Thank you for help to whoever replies, *
? = What is the best brand or type of head gasket set to get for a 2006 Forester x
2.5 L non turbo w / 103 k miles. ?
Are new Subaru parts the best option.
Like from one of the good Subaru discount part supply distributers .
Need to pull engine n replace bcus of the usual type of leaks oil / coolant ....
Also engine vacuum leaks.
Intake I already have done with Felpro gaskets, that took care of top vacuum leaks
Not sure if Felpro type are best for engine cylinder heads...
I hope to order parts in a day or 2.
Need to fast track the parts , if that's possible.
I'm 3 weeks waiting on power steering lines now that go on rack....

The flat composite OEM Subaru head gasket for your EJ25 is a bad option.
The good option is a multi-layer (MLS) steel gasket, either an OEM Subaru XT gasket, or SixStar or FelPro.
One person on the forum favors the OEM XT, while the big shop that did my engine favored SixStar.
Another good option is to remove the engine for best access for head and block prep and torquing, vs leaving the engine in.
MLS gaskets with engine removed is the best combined option for a permanent repair.

Thank you for the good info.
I was a bit on the scale measuring options bcus the original Subaru gaskets first showed signs of failing at 70 k mi. Some claim they are just not long lasting .
However it will be done *
Thanks again *
