Hi There,
The FSM for a 2006 Forester does not show the return spring but I bought these parts from a subaru parts dealer using my VIN so I am confident they are correct.
There is a note in the brake section
1) Is this a return spring or a wear indicator. Or both!
2) The indicator is only on one pad. Should it be the outer or inner pad. From the note I am guessing inner but FSM from other forester years have it on the outer
3) Should the spring be at the top or the bottom? I would guess the top so when the wear indicator does hit, it is pulled away from the body and actually bends with the spring.
Bonus question
- Its really only 70ftlbs torque for the lug nuts?!
I don't think I can upload images as I don't have enough posts but here is a link to the part number with an accurate photo. I also cannot post URLs.. I don't want to spam the site with comments in order to post them..
The part number is 26296FG010
If you type that into the subarupartssuperstore .com it will show the accurate picture.

I had a couple things I wanted to confirm since it isn't perfectly clear in the FSM
