Has anyone tried the Console Lid protector/cover sold by Subaru that is designed to protect from pets (Part Number: J201SSL010. I have a 2025 Premium Forester and was wondering if the lid cover creates a problem in easily and securely closing the lid.

If it's anything like the one I had in my old '23, no. It just slips over the lid with two elastic straps. No interference with the latch. Best thing about it is there's extra padding in the cover.

The one down side is that it only comes in grey. OP has a Premium (black or grey interior) so it should blend nicely. If you have a Touring with brown leather or something like my new Legacy with an ivory interior it kind of stands out.

I wanted a non-leather option for my arm to rest on, and I went with neoprene. It shows dog hair really well and is very comfortable, and blends in great. It also has nice elastic to hold it in place instead of the huge straps that a lot of them have. So I'd highly recommend this one.

And, if claw marks are part of your concern, this matte black cover is great - and looks much better than the shiny black surface.

I also don't generally use the wireless charger, so I wanted a tray cover to stop things from rattling and slipping around. My phone with a fairly thin cover on it will still charge no problem, and this cover actually keeps the phone from moving around and losing its charging connection.

And of course the lack of Subaru's consideration in providing a console organizer like practically every other Subaru I have bought, requires everyone to purchase their own. I looked for a long time before I found one that people didn't complain about it not fitting right and without weird-shaped compartments, so I ended up with the one below and really like it.

Here they are all together in the car, in all their dirty glory.

That’s why I like neoprene, just the right amount of squishiness and will always lay relatively flat.
