Which model X5 ?

There are six of them from the slow 3D to the more aggressive 4.8 V8.

If it was the V8 they run 0-100 kph in well under 7 secs (faster than your auto XT) so I'm guessing it wasn't that one or if it was, he wasn't trying.

Perhaps you got those mods done ?

The lowly 3D runs about 8 seconds.

Their six speed autos are way ahead of the 4 speed on the XT

must have been the "lowly 3D" as he was trying. But even still ,his cost a lot more for less go , which I guess was my point.

Seems most of the old regulars are gone, but nice to hear from you mate.

The old regulars come and go I guess.

Hope all is well.

I rather like the X5's, too big for my needs though. Eyeing up the Tiguan I must admit (test drive is planned now it is released here) but will most likely run the XT for another year or so

i dont know much about the Tiguan but it looks great in pics. i wish i can afford to maintain two cars:icon_sad: seems i will be with my Foz for a very long long long time....

I will too, but because I want to keep it.:biggrin:Suits all my needs incl. camping, offroad, long trips and spirited driving when I get the chance. Our daily driver (98 V6 Vectra) does all the short commutes, dog to beach etc.

Mine at 60K is getting tired already

Noises beginning in the diffs, the auto getting clunkier and the steering pump has just gone.

Warranty will cover some of it.

Surprisingly, hasn't been thrashed either.

Will be nice to move up to a vehicle with some quality :)

Good luck with the slower, smaller, less practical, FWD GTI Wasa.I will say it's a nice car and was on my shortlist before I got the XT (and maybe if the DSG box was available then...)

So in the words of Douglas Adams: goodbye and thanks for all the fish:raspberry:

BTW if you're passing thru Coffs, drop in and give us a look:cool:

Hehe, some would say too much attention Kevin but that's me and the Golf will no doubt get the same attention

If anyone is interested in the Fozz, it will be sold to Denlo Subaru/VW/Audi in Paramatta.

Should be a good buy

The breakdown is

1 year left on warranty, 1 year of rego, equivalent to a stage 2 tune (custom tune by Paul Fisher and another local tuner), silicon inlet pipes, Pirelli Rosso tyres, cargo bin and nets, air bag compliant front sheepskin covers (they alone were $300), fully and perhaps excessively serviced, premium paint detailing.

The Fozz went from 120 kW to 145 kW to 165 kW atw over the various tunes but always a very safe tune and the car was treated very well.

Most of the other mods/add ons - RSB and FSB upgrades, scoop, STI pedals, Scangauge, bonnet gas struts etc have been removed and will be sold separately.

Still endowed with the XTI badges though :)

sorry to hear candy... but, the gti is damn nice...

btw, are you selling the blacked out grill ?
i can never find a spare one on ebay, and if i did, i was going to the paint in black job as well...

let me know if you are selling it, and price... cheers ~

I am selling a grill, the original one minus the badge. I left the blacked out one on the Fozz

Have it for sale along with a lot of other stuff on GTRydaz.

I think I have $50 on it - pickup if possible as not sure I'd like to post it

Well the mags (Motor/Wheels) say 7.3-7.6 0-100k for the 6 speed manual but the DSG may well be that fraction quicker (had to consult my sources rather than memory). In any case it is apparently a bit quicker than the XT auto. And it will handle better- it has been the class leader for some time.

It is smaller and less practical for camping/ offroad etc but I agree it's a class act and hope you have some great fun with it.Fuel consump. about same but needs 98 not 95 (starting to matter more now- 98 is up to $1.65 up here).

So give us a squis mate and maybe a quick fang- it was my 2nd choice and the d/cluch trany is the bees knees (paddle shift too?):bananapowerslide:

Official 0-100 for the DSG is 6.9 seconds.

Official fuel economy is 8.1 l/100 km average - way better than the Fozz (over 11 for the MY06 auto)

Will also run on 95 (VW Australia) but ECU will retard timing - it is designed to do so.

Price differential in fuel is minimal compared to the lower fuel use.

Don't go camping anymore so was an easy choice.

Yep, has paddle shifts for the 6 speed DSG :)

Likely to be driving to QLD mid year so will keep in touch when I cruise through Coffs
