But…. some car models in non-North-American markets use one of the US backup light lenses for mandatory rear fog lights we don’t have here. I have no idea about current Subarus, just that taillight configurations can vary between countries.

 

Probably a good idea to let the dealer look at it since it's under warranty.

 

^ agree. Many cars in upside-down land have one reverse and one rear fog light.
