Hello, My wife traded in her 2018 Forester for a new 2022. When I was reading the manual it mentioned the little metal key tag, there wasn’t one attached to our keys. She called the dealer and they told her that is not included anymore and the key code is tied to the vin now. I really don‘t care for the dealer and not sure I believe him. I wanted to verify here. If is something that is supposed to be included does anyone have a suggestion what number at Subaru to call? Thanks for any help!

Our 22 Wilderness had the key plate as well. With instructions from the dealer to not lose it. They can still get the information from the system, but they said the process is much faster to replace the keys if we have the plate.
