Hello - quick question for 2019 or later (non-hybrid) owners.
I am looking for someone willing to make a couple measurements of the cargo area for me. I'm asking because I'm looking into buying a Forester and putting in a subwoofer and I want to know the maximum volume I have to work with. Basically how big of a rectangular box can I fit in there. I've found elsewhere the width of the cargo area between the wheel housings is 43", but it would be good to get confirmation on that.
Next I need the height dimension. I don't want the enclosure to be taller than the seatback, so I'm looking for the height of the rear seats above the cargo area, from the floor of the cargo area (without any special cargo area covering) to the top of the seat. Like in 'N', here:
Last is the distance from the top of the rear seat (top of 'N') to the rear door, or cargo opening, whichever is limiting (eg green or blue dotted line):
I'm assuming this green/blue distance is not the same across the length of the seatback, because the rear gate/opening is curved, so I'm interested in the shortest distance in that measurement.
Thank you in advance if you can help!
