I have recently purchased a 2017 Forester XT with a CVT and 60K miles. It is a challenge to slowly and smoothly start from a standing stop. By letting off the brake the car starts rolling, but when the accelerator is depressed, even gently, there is noticeable pulse when engine power is first engaged and it is difficult to slowly accelerate.
Is this typical for an XT? I believe XTs have the same CVT as the Outback to handle the higher power of the turbo-charged engine. Would it help to have the transmission control module flashed?
