2015 - 6MT - TPMS Question - 2022 Crosstrek Wheels on Forester?

Vehicle Details:
2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i
I upgraded the wheels/tires on my 2015 Forester from a 2022 Crosstrek. Not surprisingly the TPMS sensors did not match up with the car. I took it to my local shop for a quick try and they could see the 2015 car and the 2022 sensors but couldn't match them up. This was a quick visit in the inspection bay. He said I could make an appointment for the full shop where they have a more robust reader/tool but suggested I call the dealer first to confirm the match is even possible. Not wanting the runaround of that phone call I figured I'd try here first.... Thanks.

Adding some detail: Your 2015 uses the old Schrader system. The RKE (key fob & TPMS sensors) operated on the 315 MHz band. The 2022 Crosstrek uses the current Schrader system that operates on the 433 MHz band. The components are incompatible.

If the Crosstrek wheels had aftermarket sensors installed, there is a good chance that they might be univeral programmable units. In that case they might be reconfigurable to work with your 2015. But if they are true Subaru OE part number supplied Schrader sensors they will have fixed codes and cannot be updated. Sorry!
