Need some help! My 2016 Premium (120K miles) has a whining sound noticeable over 35 MPH. Very similar to tire whine, but frequency does not change as speed increases, only volume. Same noise with different tires, also in neutral. Could this be a bad wheel bearing? Transmission bearing?

Most mechanical noises change with the rotational speed of the item making the noise, rather than just getting louder.
A sound clip might help (maybe) but it could be something as simple as some wind noise.

Sounds like the wheel bearings which is a common problem with all Subaru's. Take it to your mechanic and have the wheel bearings checked. My 2014 XT had the same problem around 120,000.
