@urdahls does the driver's door electric unlock switch open the rear passenger doors & the hatch?

It did for A couple of weeks un til yesterday, when it stopped working again. I’d washed the car the day before, so perhaps that had something to do with it.

Out of curiosity, why did you have the upholstery repaired? Water damage, by any chance?

According to the FSM for the 2002 model, the rear door lock actuators and rear gate lock are all on the same wires coming from the keyless entry control module. (Connector B97 from the body harness, connecting to R1 from the rear wiring harness.)

It's possible the pins inside these connectors have become corroded if exposed to excessive moisture (hence my original question). I'm guessing that in the process of replacing the driver's side upholstery, this connection was taken apart/reconnected, or jostled, just enough that the connection was (temporarily) re-established.

The same could apply if there was a broken wire (temporary re-connection), and normal vibration and/or environmental conditions broke the connection (again).
