Ouch. I bought a VF30 from them and notice a crack on the exhaust side. Sent it back and they sent me another one no problem. Too bad they're off NASIOC but that forum has gone to hell anyway. Probably better for them. Lets get them on here and hook us up with some Forester parts!

wow.. people are just not very nice on nasioc- I'd leave as well.

They used to be vendors here... fizzled out after a while. From what I understand, they took on a bunch of ex-employees of Vivid Racing and the company went to hell in a handbasket.

I knew that Mike was an ex VR employee but he took on others?

kingpins past is stormy, to say the least. The owner was from VR, he struck out with his brother and they started to build a good name for themselves. VSB had a lot of work performed by them and was very satisfied. While they were vendors here I purchased my first major mod from them. For 600.00 they sold and installed Ver. 7 STi Takeoffs and a 2.5" APS Axelback. They (Dave) did an outstanding job. Shortly after that I began to hear of customer service problems. From the last few pages of the Kingpin Post on NASOIC, seems like they never escaped the problems that have plagued them for the past 2 years. I never had a problem with them, but all the horror stories I heard did influence my choice of tuner when it came time to do Ecutek Tune. Will be interesting to see what happens to them from here.

I started reading it again from the middle and it does seems like things went downhill. I had a great experience with them but now I just get all my stuff from Jackie

I got my Hoodscoop from them and was very happy with the service. Dave (I think it was) helped me with some questions and even sourced some parts that I didn't end up needing in the end. Shame really what has happened.

Ouch! :icon_eek:

I got my V7 splitter from them as well as a few other "rare" parts and I never had a problem with them. My biggest complaint with them is who ever did their packing actually sealed the boxes too well..

fxtacy 10-16-2006 07:12 AM

My impression of them from just stopping in and discussing mods, etc was very low. This was before they moved into their newer, bigger facility. But it wasn't just the fact that the shop looked like h_ll, or that they had porn CD's piled to the ceiling in there so called offices. The lack of inthusiasm to asnwer my questions, and the workmanship I saw while there was the real turn off. Never went to them for anytyhing just because of the initial impression.

Hmm. Maybe I should put this one up for a poll...

Do it. I'd be anxious to see who had positive and who had negative interaction with Kingpin.

I got my used VF39 from Kingpin w/ low mileage for cheap. Can't remember much but I think the service was good...well, no complaints on my part.

I, also, have heard a lot of bad things as well.

DonutKing 10-16-2006 04:18 PM

He has been doing the shisty **** for some time... It had to end! As an ex employee I can say the only one who really cared was dave mikes brother.... Mike was there for the cars the girls adn the money. Not to be friends with customers and build realationships. Im sorry Guys but im not the only one who used to work there that feels this way...
