Image in Motion: Vancouver. Buyer beware
Well, as many of you know I bought new Rota Torques from image in Motion in Maple Ridge BC (suburb of Vancouver).
I had the wife pick them up and have them mount my stock geo tires. When I opened up the bag there was a chip on the rim.
I called Geordie at IIM and let him know and sent a pic.
His response was a cowardly e-mail:
I got the guys who did the mounting and balancing to take a look at the chip and they're saying that there's no way that could've happened during mount and bal. Our machine uses a nylon head that couldn't cause gash like that, it would cause the metal to be scratched in an outward fashion and would nearly destroy the head of the machine in the event an error occured during mounting. They also inspected each wheel prior to mount and balance to make sure there were nor imperfections.
I'm sorry to say, being that the wheels have now been mounted on your car, there's nothing we can do in terms of refund or warranty.
If there's anything else I can do for you, let me know
I will post pic tomorrow.
I would like to add that I did not ask for anything. I am not a wheel guy and mine will get scratched and chipped while I offroad. I was trying to let him know that there might be an issue with his machine or installer.
This is how he thought to treat a customer.
Next time I will pick wheeldude.com.
These guys clearly have no grasp of customer service.
